Verification Will Be Impossible

An old Russian expression is "Trust, but verify." But what do you do when you can't trust - and you can't verify? That's the Iran nuclear deal.

We can't trust Iran. Iran has bragged of its history of deceiving the world about its nuclear program. So tough verification is essential.

But this deal makes verification impossible. The deal doesn't include anytime, anywhere inspections. Iran will be able to continue its decades-long history of cheating on global obligations.

And Iran is not even required to come clean about its past nuclear weaponization work. If we don't know what Iran has been doing, we can't verify that Iran has stopped doing it.

We can't trust and we can't verify. This is a bad deal.
